Handmade series: feijoa wine

Homemade Feijoa Wine! I used 5 kg of feijoas from our backyard trees during autumn. I mashed up the pulp and added 6 litres of boiled water and campden tablets to a foodgrade bucket. I added fruit wine yeast and let it sit for three days, just covered by a tea towel. I added 4kg of sugar and wine nutrients; some people add additives such as tannin and citric acid but I thought I’d try the simple recipe first. The minimum brewing time is usually until the wine stops bubbling, but the longer the better! I left mine for 3 months until bottling. I strained the wine through cheesecloth before bottling. This made about 15 bottles! What a cheap easy way to drink wine!
